How do I add a fallback text if customer name is not available?

Updated today

By default, if a customer’s name isn’t provided when creating a review request, the {Customer Name} placeholder will be left blank in your message.

For example, if your template says “Hi {Customer Name}! Thanks for trusting us with your needs…” and no name is available, the message will be sent as “Hi! Thanks for trusting us with your needs…”

If you’d prefer a smoother message, you can add fallback text. This allows you to replace the blank name with something like “there,” so the message reads more naturally: “Hi there! Thanks for trusting us with your needs…”

Adding a fallback text

Go to your Settings page, scroll down to the Dynamic Attributes section, and click Edit.

Next to the Customer Name attribute, click edit.

Under the fallback input field, add the text you'd like to use if a customer name is not present.
