Review Radar Explained

Review Radar™ powered by TrueReview®

Review Radar™ is an AI-powered feature of TrueReview®, that automatically scans your incoming Google reviews for potential policy violations. When a violation is detected, it identifies the most likely violation category to use when reporting — increasing your chances of removal. You can track every flagged review through its full lifecycle: from initial alert, to reported, to confirmed removal by Google.

Enabling Review Radar

From your dashboard:

Hover over the Review Radar status, and toggle it on.

From your Insights page:

Head over to your Insights page and click the Review Radar tab. At the top of the page, click the toggle to turn it on.

Alerts

When a potential policy violation is detected, a “Review Radar” filter will appear in your toolbar with the number of flagged reviews. Click it to view all reviews that may violate Google’s policies.

To see details such as the violation category and explanation, click the Manage button next to the review marked with the red shield icon and border.

You will see the reason for the policy violation, as well as which policy it violates.

Click “Report to Google” to open your Google Maps listing, where you can flag the review using the recommended violation category.

Note: Reviews can only be flagged or reported directly on Google. Google does not allow third-party platforms to submit review reports on your behalf.

Reporting a review

After reporting the review on Google, you can check the box next to it to “Mark as reported.” This allows you to keep track of the reviews you’ve reported by organizing them in the Reported tab under Review Radar in your Insights page.

Reviews in the Alerts and Reported tabs are continuously monitored. If a reported review is no longer found on your Google Business Profile, it will automatically be moved to the Removed tab.

Review Radar Alert Notification Emails

You can enable or disable email notifications for reviews that may have potential policy violations by going to your business settings page, and under Email Preferences, check the box next to Review Radar Alerts.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Does Review Radar report the review to Google for me?

No — and that's intentional. Google does not allow third-party apps to submit review reports on your behalf. Review Radar identifies the violation, recommends the correct reporting category, and takes you directly to Google to submit the report yourself. The report always comes from you.

Q: Will Google know I used a tool to find the violation?

No. Review Radar analyzes the review text inside TrueReview — nothing is submitted to Google until you choose to report it manually. Google sees a report from a business owner, which is exactly what it is.

Q: Does flagging a review guarantee it gets removed?

No tool can guarantee removal — only Google decides. What Review Radar does is significantly improve your odds by making sure you report under the correct policy category. Reports submitted under the wrong category are routinely dismissed. Getting the category right is the single biggest factor in whether Google acts.

Q: What kinds of violations does Review Radar detect?

Review Radar scans for language that may violate Google's content policies, including bullying and harassment, hate speech and discrimination, fake or spam content, and misinformation. It explains the reasoning behind each flag so you can make an informed decision before reporting.

Q: What happens after I report a review?

You can mark the review as reported inside TrueReview. If Google removes it, it automatically moves to the Removed tab in your Review Radar dashboard so you always have a record of what happened.

Q: Does Review Radar work for all Google reviews?

Review Radar monitors all incoming Google reviews on your connected business profile. It only flags reviews that contain language potentially violating Google's policies — reviews that are simply negative but don't break any rules will not be flagged.
